It feels like a safe place to park.
Generally well thought out layout but fairly basic amenities and soulless atmosphere. Large size of free car park, in attracting a corresponding number of commuters and thus contributing to overcrowding on trains, has perhaps made the station a victim of its own success.
Trains to/from Tweedbank are often overcrowded, with many two car units utilised, much different from the services offered when the line was reopened. Prone to delays due to parts of the route being single track. Large free car park, plenty of disabled parking, and access to the platform can be made from a long ramp. Large bike rack, but a small hut for shelter with metal bum rests for comfort, which are horrendous in winter!
Good local station
Station was clean and tidy. There is a covered waiting shelter in case of rain. Very handy to have a station here.
