Beautiful place to sit and have a bite to eat or just a coffee and cake. Warm and welcoming in the winter, a delight in the summer.
Very nice cafe for breakfast or lunch. Avocado on sourdough toast is superb. The cafe is in the grounds of Dalkeith Country park which is full of nice short walking trails. 4 stars may be a bit mean but I cannot give it 5 as I find it very slightly over priced.
Fantastic location with amazing walks and shopping experience. Lovely food served in beautiful surroundings. If you have children plenty of activities to keep them amused.
Morning coffee and scones in the restaurant. Warm, friendly atmosphere and a bit quieter than some other, local venues - garden centres, etc. Scones were excellent if a little crumbly. The first lattes could have been hotter - hence the 4 stars - but this was remedied with the second mugs. Definitely on our morning coffee list.
Restaurant is lovely, grounds are picturesque, perfect for families. Shop is very expensive and although dogs welcome on grounds they're not allowed in any of the indoor areas so you must only go on a nice day when you can sit outside! Would be good to have signposted walk suggestions around the grounds as we've taken a few but sometimes just end up in a field!
