Fort Douglas - brillSky maze (tunnel cage form one side of a bridge over a river to the other underneath the bridge-EPIC) Restoration yard cafe and shop- great. Setting lovely too. However a little expensive for what is essentially a kids park. 'adults pay too- not sure why?' kids had fun which was sour main reason for visiting.
Great experience day or night! We were there for dinner and movie over Christmas and just had to visit again during the day for a leisurely browse in the shop!
Big slices of cake, nice coffee, fairly priced. The only downside was the lack of table space. We were lucky and nabbed a table as someone was leaving but there were others not so lucky. If there were other seating areas available inside, it was not easy to see.
There are some good walks here for people, families and dogs. The paths are generally not challenging and there are some nice views. The place has a good cafe and restaurant and a great play area for kids. The one bad thing is that both the cafe and the restaurant are not dog friendly.
Lovely setting in the grounds of Dalkeith country park. Great be to stop off for a coffee and cake while walking the dogs. Would be even better if the cafe was dog friendly. However, there is a courtyard where you can sit and drink your coffee with the dogs. There is also a restaurant, various shops and I'm sure there are evening yoga classes too. Well worth a visit if you're passing.
